Tillamook

Tillamook is famous for its cheese, so a visit to Tillamook has to include a visit to the Tillamook Cheese Factory. We got to see how the cheese was made, both on TV monitors and through big windows that look out over the factory floor. Afterward we bought some cheese and had lunch. Then we got ice cream for dessert. There's a window at the ice cream shop too, and we could see them making waffle cones and waffle dishes.

Next stop on the drive was Cannon Beach, where we had a pretty good view of Tillamook Rock Lighthouse (picture above). It's about a mile out to sea, so unless you're on a boat or a plane this is as close as you get.
